I actually enjoy YouTube live over Twitch, but I really wish Channels had a set Live Page or live video link. It is not very easy to work with and hard to market as the links and such always change. I see this in esports a lot where Twitch is a simple link that they can cover their media in, but the YT users need to continually update ads or link to their channel and hope the viewer finds the live stream video.

I have streamed a few times myself on YouTube and whilst I didn't get a lot of viewers at the time, I did enjoy going live on there and would at some point like to post more shorts, long-form videos, and go live to see how that goes. I do wish they made things easier though than they are for live streamers on the site and made things like an actual live page. I know they are working on a lot of updates and hopefully one day we will see a better live experience.

Ya, they seem to be more focused on TikTok-like features, but one can hope they will hit Live Streaming hard soon.
I don't like them going that TikTok route. They're fine the way it is. Hell, if they wanted to be a competitor to TikTok, maybe give algorithm boost to livestreams, which is one of the things TikTok does (as does Instagram), and if they want to compete with Twitch... THEY have the actual tools to do so. Has been for a while now. They have the tools that Twitch does, but punishes livestreams. Counterintuitive, but whatever... if YT wants to be killed off, keep doing what they've been doing.

I agree, and it is. My issue is with the OTHER features YT took from TikTok, and I think most of it is behind-the-scenes that most youtubers don't know, and it's Chinese-style moderation. And it's getting nastier since 2019. Most YT mods act like marxists right now. Forget the rules, they can apply these "rules" and not give a shit. They demonetized a youtuber called RTGameCrowd, but once RTGameCrowd contacted TeamYouTube about the policy "mistake" they retroactively went through his old videos, and demonetized his other videos. You think I'm joking? Here ya go:

My minor issue with YT, is adopting the TikTok model with "handles." In theory, I don't have a problem with the handles, but I would rather have the Twitter style "handles" where the URL is like https://twitter.com/CarlosX360 while the handle is with the @ symbol. On the website, not in URL. It looks stupid, like this: https://www.youtube.com/@CarlosX360

This actually dumbfounded me. I was all for handles but the @ in the URL was never expected and no user would think to type it in as every social media uses @ABC, but none require the @ symbol in the URL.
And I believe the old clean URLs are just legacy, so in theory, it will be possible for a channel to change its handle and still have the old URL without the @. This makes me believe a new channel can reuse its old Handle, but the non "@" symbol would take them to the old user's channel.
I don't even know where to begin with the YT rules and terms. I agree with you. But it is so bad I don't even know where to start. The new 8 seconds of profanity-free content at the intro of the video is needed to be monetized, but after 8 seconds you can swear away. What? Why? Who asked for this? What is it solving?
