Popular online asian video game retailer has listed the pre-order for the upcoming Playstation 5 hardware at an astronomical price. According to the pre-order page, the price of the upcoming console is going to be a staggering $699.99 USD. A $700 console in 2020? We're pretty sure it's just a placeholder, but what if the console does indeed launch at that? Sony got backlash for the PS3 being $599 back in 2006. Now if they release the PS5 at $699, I don't see them succeeding this upcoming generation. Yes there is an all-digital edition that could be significantly cheaper and more affordable, but not everyone is ready for the all-digital age. What are your thoughts? Are you willing to drop $700 on the Playstation 5 with a disc drive?
It's also important to note that the all-digital model is also listed at $699.99 USD, which makes no sense. We're pretty certain the model without a disc drive will be...

It appears that Call of Duty 2020 has changed it's title yet again. It seems Activision has changed the name from Call of DUty: Black Ops Cold War to simply just Call of Duty: Black Ops. This comes after a leak from PS4patches.com shows that Call of Duty 2020's alpha was leaked on there and the codename for the CoD 2020 title was listed as simply "The Red Door" some data mining have discovered a new logo/graphic for this year's Call of Duty and it's showing it to simply be "Call of Duty: Black Ops" This would fit in line with a previous leak we covered of this being a reboot of the series. It was stated earlier that much like Modern Warfare 2019, this year's game is a reboot of the Call of Duty Black Ops series by Treyarch. Since Treyarch has taken over development from Sledgehammer Games & Raven on this year's project, with both SHG and Raven taking up supporting roles on the title now, it would make perfect sense that this year's Call of Duty title is simply known as Call of...

If you grew up in the 90's and owned a Playstation, you probably at some point played Tony Hawk's Pro Skater or it's sequels. A skateboarding game designed by Neversoft and published by Activision. Well, after Activision ran the series into the ground, they disbanded Neversoft and merged the studio into Infinity Ward. The later THPS games to be released such as Tony Hawk HD and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 was done by another studio, but fear not, it has been confirmed by Tony Hawk himself that they are working with Activision to put out Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1&2 Remastered. One would think it is going to be a full fledged remaster of both games mashed into one, or perhaps they will be 2 separate games. We don't know at this point, all we know is that it (they?) are coming.
Tony Hawk has confirmed it in a video with Jack Black on his youtube channel and Jack was able to play an early build of the game. See the footage below.
Streets of Rage was a classic beat-em-up/brawler from the 1990's on the Sega Genesis/MegaDrive. It was Sega's answer to Capcom's Final Fight series. Streets of Rage was so well received it spawned 2 sequels in 1992 and 1994 respectively. There was even ports to the Sega Master System & Sega Game Gear. These versions were scaled down 8-bit versions of their big 16-bit brothers. The series was a lot of fun with catchy techno/dance/club music infused that kept the player pumped up through the waves and rounds of endless enemies to beat up while you made your way to the final boss, Mr. X. A crime syndicate that took over your once peaceful city.
The first game follows 3 vigilante cops, Axel Stone, Blaze Fielding and Adam Hunter. The trio must clean the city of the evil influence of the syndicate & Mr. X, they will risk their lives on the Streets of Rage. The series was a blast to play back in the day. However, Sega went through 2 other console generations with the Sega Saturn and...
After there were major spoilors leaked for the upcoming Last of Us Part 2 by someone from within Naughty Dog, Sony has decided to push up the release date on not only The Last of Us Part 2 but also their upcoming Ghost of Tsushima game. The two new release dates are as follows The Last of Us Part 2 will now be released on June 19th, 2020 and Ghost of Tsushima will follow on July 17th, 2020.
In recent events with what's going on in the world, we see this as Sony's way of doing some form of damage control so that these games aren't spoiled and ruined for the masses. We're okay with these new release dates though! Are you excited to get your hands on either of these games?
The long awaited sequel to popular beat-em-up series Streets of Rage is finally upon us! Streets of Rage 4 will be releasing on April 30th, 2020 on Switch, Xbox One and Playstation 4 respectively. Here is the release date trailer below.
Need the game? You can purchase physical PS4 and Switch copies from our buddies at Limited Run Games.
Who will you be cleaning up the streets with on April 30th? Let us know in the comments below!
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is currently available on the Playstation 4 for $20 as a campaign only download. The iconic multiplayer from 2009 is nowhere to be seen and Xbox/PC players have to wait until April 30th to relive the iconic campaign, but why? Well we have the reason....
According to leaker TheGamingRevolution the real reason the multiplayer is absent from the MW2 remaster despite having been done for years now, is because they changed things within the MP and then decided that players might 'not like the changes' they've made to the core gameplay and overall MP experience. However, if that is the case, why not just revert the changes, or better yet, release a beta test with the changes and obtain community feedback? We might like the changes......and if not, simply revert back to the old build of MP from the remaster.
It would literally be like printing money if Activision was to release Modern...
Sony has revealed what the official PS5 controller will look like at retail. The new controller will be called DualSense, instead of what everyone was assuming would be known as the Dualshock 5. Here are some details we know about the controller. The share button has been replaced with the "Create" button. The light bar functionality on the top of the existing Dualshock 4 has been put on each side of the touchpad on the DualSense controller. We're not sure how we feel about this change yet.
here are some pics:
So what do you think of the new controller and it's design for the upcoming Playstation 5? Let us know in the comments below!
The long awaited Phantasy Star Online 2 open beta for Xbox is coming March 17th, 2020. The beta will carry progress over from the closed beta and those who participated within the closed beta will simply just need to update their clients for the open beta, no need to redownload/re-install the client. The game will simply update a day or two before the beta goes live and you'll be all ready to go on the 17th when it launches. The open beta should be open for everyone regardless of region this time.
However, that's not all! You can purchase a Founders Pack which will include the following items:
The upcoming Streets of Rage 4 has shown off some new gameplay footage. The game is set to launch sometime in 2020. Possibly this Spring. Here is some fresh new footage of the all new and recently confirmed 4 player action.
What are your thoughts on the upcoming Streets of Rage 4? Are you going to be picking it up when it drops? Do you got a squad of 4 that you'll be rolling with?
The Tony Hawks Pro Skater series has been dormant for years if you don't count the 2015 bomb that was Tony Hawks Pro Skater 5. However, fans of the series may have a glimmer of hope to see a new THPS game worthy of the name being brought into the modern age. There are two prototypes rumoured to be making the rounds at Activision of remakes of Tony Hawks Pro Skater and Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 respectively. These demos/prototypes may be intended for new games, or just as a test, If Activision decides to greenlight these projects, we could see a rebirth of classic Tony Hawk games in a new era. This would be fantastic and would bring old fans back to the series as well as bring new fans to it who may have never enjoyed the awesomeness that was THPS and THPS2 back in 1999 and 2000 respectively.
I remember playing both on my PS1 back in the day and me and my cousin would often try to beat each other's high scores. Now, at nearly 30 years of age, I could sit and do this with my...
Microsoft has just announced that starting in early 2020 Ryu ga Gotoku Studios popular franchise Yakuza will be heading to Xbox and Xbox Game Pass early 2020. We are speculating that it will drop around the same time as Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 remasters are dropping on Playstation 4 physically this February. Yakuza 0, Kiwami and Kiwami 2 are the first three games in the series, chronologically and a great way for new xbox fans to jump in and follow the adventures of Kazuma Kiryu and his friends in japan's crime-filled underworld. It appears that the Yakuza games will be xbox one X enhanced which is fantastic news for those who love gaming in 4K on their xbox one X.
What do you think about the Yakuza series finally coming to Xbox? Are you excited?
So Naughty Dog has decided to delay the release of The Last of Us part 2 from it's February 21st release date. It seems the developer needs a bit more time to polish the game and make it the best it can be. With that being said, the new release date is May 29th, 2020 The Last of Us 2 was revealed in December of 2016, and finally shown off E3 2018. We didn't get a release date until September 2019. Now Naughty Dog has pushed the release to Spring 2020 with it's new May 29th, 2020 release date.
The last of Us Part 2 is the follow up to the critically acclaimed, aware winning game from Naughty Dog. It seems TLOU 2 might be one of the last games released for Sony's Playstation 4. The Playstation 5 is slated for a Fall/Holiday 2020 release.
Today, the Call of Duty community exploded when news dropped that post launch content, mainly weapons will be earned through Gameplay. Artistic lead of Infinity Ward Joel Emsile stated about a week ago that this would be the case and that Infinity Ward was "not working on a lootbox/supply drop system". Everyone was skeptical but hopeful and cautiously optimistic, it seems we now have confirmation that Joel was telling the truth. It appears that post-launch weapons will be achieved through gameplay and playing the game, not through an RNG slot machine mechanic. Activision has come out to say that there will NEVER be supply drops in Modern Warfare. It would appear that Activision is now taking a new more consumer-friendly approach to MTX.
Taken directly from the activision blog post: Today, let’s address the basics for the in-game economy coming in Modern Warfare.
We are introducing a new Battle Pass system, not a loot box system.
Earlier today Sony officially revealed the Playstation 5. The PS5 is slated for a Holiday 2020 release. The Playstation 5 is said to have a new technology in it's controller and Sony says "don't call it a Dualshock 5" at least not yet........here is a quote from the official playstation blog:
To that end, there are two key innovations with the PlayStation 5’s new controller. First, we’re adopting haptic feedback to replace the “rumble” technology found in controllers since the 5th generation of consoles. With haptics, you truly feel a broader range of feedback, so crashing into a wall in a race car feels much different than making a tackle on the football field. You can even get a sense for a variety of textures when running through fields of grass or plodding through mud.
The second innovation is something we call adaptive triggers, which have been incorporated into the trigger buttons (L2/R2). Developers can program the resistance of the triggers so that you feel the...
